Frequently asked questions

What formats does the data come in?
Your weekly delivery includes both formats: open the .xlsx in Excel, and use the .csv for imports and scripts. (If you open the CSV directly in Excel, Excel may auto-format zip codes and dates on save — an Excel behavior, not a data issue; the .xlsx is immune.) Each delivery also includes an email digest summarizing the week's notable closures.
How current is the data, and what's in each weekly file?
Each Monday's file contains the closure events we newly identified that week — collected through the prior Friday night, then deduplicated against our full history so you're never re-sent a record you've already received. Records are verified and cross-referenced against WARN filings and court dockets over the weekend; delivery lands Monday morning. Events that surface over the weekend roll into the following Monday's file.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Billing is handled by Stripe. Cancel from your Stripe-hosted portal at any time; you keep access through the end of the paid period.
Do you cover my market?
We track 50+ U.S. metros with national coverage of chain closures, WARN filings, and bankruptcies. If a market isn't yet broken out as a city page, national records still include it — email us to confirm coverage.
Can I get the historical back-catalog?
The subscription delivers each week's newly identified records. The full historical catalog — 12,000+ verified records back to January 2026 — isn't currently offered as a standalone product. We're gauging demand: if historical data would be valuable to you, email [email protected] with the chains, markets, or date range you'd want, and you'll be first to know if we release it. Note that the Watchlist (predictive) layer is part of the active subscription only.
