Republic National Distributing's Georgia wind-down: 558 jobs at two metro Atlanta facilities
Republic National Distributing Company is a 128-year-old wine and spirits wholesaler with its headquarters in Cobb County. It filed for Chapter 11 on July 26, 2026 in the Southern District of Texas. The filing came after a year of selling its state operations one at a time.
In late August the company filed four WARN notices with Georgia. Together they cover 558 employees at two facilities. One is the headquarters on Wildwood Parkway in Cobb County, northwest of Atlanta near Marietta. The other is the distribution facility on National Drive SW in southwest Atlanta, near Fulton County Executive Airport. The notices cover 321 employees of Republic National Distributing Company, 157 of its Texas subsidiary, 78 of Young's Market Company and two of Young's Market of Arizona. Permanent layoffs are expected to begin October 19 or within the following two weeks. In the notices the company said it had been "exploring various strategic alternatives that would secure capital to avoid liquidation."

Georgia is the latest state in a wind-down that Store Closure Watch has tracked since April. That month the company issued conditional notices in a dozen states ahead of asset sales to Reyes Beverage Group and other buyers. The file has recorded notices or closures in these states since then. The job figures in those notices were conditional on the sales, so they are not added together here.
